The New York Public Library Offers Over 187K Digital Items for Free Download

The New York Public Library has enhanced access to its Digital Collections that are in public domain allowing users to enjoy and use the materials in an way they want. There are now over 180.000 digitized items in public domain. These include materials such as prints, photographs, maps, books, paintings, newspaper clippings, manuscripts, streaming video and many more.
Users can download materials from Digital Collections in high resolution with no permission required and no restrictions on use. “On January 6th, 2016, The New York Public Library made over 187K digital items in the public domain available for high resolution download. This is one of many experiments by the NYPL Labs to help patrons understand and explore what was contained in that release.”
