6 of The Best Tools for Creating Digital Learning Portfolios

Over the last few years we have reviewed several educational web tools and mobile apps that allow students to create and share digital portfolios. In today’s post we are featuring some of our favourite titles and the ones we would recommend the most to teachers. Although the selection is subjective but is, nonetheless, based on an insider knowledge of the multiple advantages of each of these tools and well as on their growing popularity among educators and teachers. 1- SeeSaw
This is an excellent tool for creating digital portfolios, SeeSaw works across different platforms and works seamlessly across them. It is also available for the web, iOS, Android, Chromebooks,and Kindle Fire. SeeSaw enables students to document their learning using a wide variety of multimedia materials such as photos, text, links, videos, drawings, PDFs and many more. Students can directly import content from other apps and add it to their portfolios. ‘Students can use Seesaw's built-in audio recording, drawing and caption tools to reflect on what they've learned or explain how they got their answer.’
2- WeLearnedIt
WeLearnedIt is another awesome platform for designing digital learning portfolios. It supports various forms of content whether grabbed from the web or uploaded directly from one’s computer. Students can add clipped content, images, videos, document from Google Drive or Dropbox, embed codes from the web and many more. ‘Using the class and student dashboards, teachers can easily track student growth over time based on their assignments and the rubrics that are created from the assessed work. These reports can be shared with students, parents, and even sent out as a digital report card to show not only the grade, but the project, assignment feedback, and more.’
